Pointing Fingers!!!
1. It was a warm Sunday afternoon and was feeling bored at home and picked up my phone and called up my friend to catch up for a movie. It was tight, to make it to the matinee show but still possible, i convinced my friend. It was a movie which was on top of my mind and i was so excited that i was going to watch the movie. I went online and booked a couple of tickets for the movie. Indeed the online experience is much better than standing in a queue for hours together. Although you end up paying 30 bucks extra, still wouldn't mind to escape from the pain of standing in queue. It was only an hr left for the show to begin and i left home to pick up my friend.I picked my friend and felt a sigh of relief as i had a look at my watch and it showed that i still had 40 min left. The theatre was just another 20 min from my friend's place and i was confident of reaching earlier. The thought of reaching earlier sent another signal of happiness and there was grin covering my face.
From my friend's place i reached the main road which was leading towards the theatre and the grin disappeared soon looking at the long traffic jam. In the excitement to watch the movie i had almost forgotten that the elections on cards ,government wanted to prove their point of infrastructure and had dug the roads to build a new flyover. Vehicles passing had a squeezed road width and it had build the castle of worry for commuters.
"Oh! what a government! .Build roads and again dig them out in no time" said my friend.
"Hey, do one thing take the short cut which will reach the theatre in 25 min. Its a long route but better waiting in the traffic". I felt that it was better idea and turned my bike in direction of short route. Entering the small gully i realised the number of pot holes covering the road. A mountain bike was best suited for this terrain. "Oh what horrible roads, one side they are digging the roads and the other side there are no roads".

An experience which most of us have come across in India. Potholes and traffic jams..
2. Election date was Ramesh's first year anniversary. Ramesh, wanted to celebrate his first year of togetherness in Paris, city of love. So, he went to the internet websites and started exploring the flights. He got a suitable flight matching his pocket and time. The excitement grew in his heart as he clicked the final confirmation and saw his e-ticket.
The day finally arrived and he left to Paris. On his return, the excitement of being a foreign country was still high. It was almost a week that he had returned but still the excitement had not abated. Anyone whom he met , he started with " You know, in Paris.................. " and the comparison of India with Paris was never ending. " These politicians you see....................They lack the basic common sense. In Paris, ......... ". His friends were getting bugged with the comparison for every damn thing.
It was another evening when with his friends, he Ramesh started his usual sentence when he was late by almost 1 hr from the decided time " You see in Paris, the network is so easily connected and you don't have to wait for public transport for so long".
Patience level of his friends had reached crossed the threshold level, and finally it bursted out " You keep comparing India to Paris, when you can pin point and compare every damn thing to Paris, why don't you stand for elections. You feel you have more ideas go ahead will support you. When it was election time you felt it more important to travel to Paris , then don't have any right to complain about India and its politicians. Every country has its own weakness and strengths, what we see from the outside the fancy thing is not always what in reality it is".
This provoked his thoughts, 'Yes, indeed he had fled the country on the date of election and saving a few rupees on ticket had taken the priority than actually voting for the right candidate".
This fictional character we have come across in our lives, where our own personal priorities takes the driver seat when comparing to certain national topics. Then before we start complaining or cribbing about our Politicians pls think once it is us who are responsible for them to be in that seat.
Always remember when you are pointing finger, there are 4 more fingers pointing at you. Take equal responsibility.
Let's think what have we done to improve the place we are living.
